If you need a second chance to make good on those New Year’s resolutions, you’re in luck: February 16th marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year, a major holiday in many Asian cultures! According to the Chinese zodiac, every lunar year is represented by one of twelve animals, and 2018 is the Year of the Dog! It should come as no surprise to pet lovers that the dog symbolizes friendship and loyalty. The traits of your zodiac animal are said to correspond with your own personality. Furthermore, in Chinese element theory, each zodiac sign is associated with one of the five elements: Gold (Metal), Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. So there are actually five types of dogs, each with a different personality! The Earth Dog is the 2018 canine, and is reputed to be communicative, serious, and responsible in work.
